How does insurance work with my subscription?


If selected and eligible, comprehensive insurance can be added onto your subscription. Comprehensive insurance is provided by NIG as part of your subscription. Your cover starts from midnight on the day you receive your vehicle and lasts until 11:59 on the day your subscription ends.

In in the event of an accident or damage to the vehicle, please call NIG insurance on 0345 300 4644 within 24 hours.

NIG policies are underwritten by U K Insurance Limited.

What do I do in the event of an accident with my vehicle?


Firstly, please make sure you are safe, and that the vehicle is secure.

Gather as much as possible at the scene of the accident. Please make sure to include:

  • The name, contact number and address of the other driver, as well anyone else who’s involved
  • Their registration and insurance details
  • Names and contact details of any witnesses
  • Any photos of the scene and the vehicles involved
  • Video or photographs of the car’s involved

If someone is injured, please call the police as soon as possible and let them know if anyone is injured. They will also need to know if you are the person driving the car was unable to exchange insurance details with the other drivers.

Do not admit fault at the scene of the accident as our insurers will want to investigate exactly what has happened.

You will need to notify NIG within 24 hours of the accident on 0345 300 4644.

Is there any excess to pay on my insurance in the event of a claim?


There is a £750 excess. However, for windscreen claims, the excess if £100 if you use one of our authorised windscreen and glass suppliers. You can find the authorised suppliers on the NIG website. If you choose to use a different supplier, the excess is £200.

Can I use the vehicle for business travel?


Yes, you are covered forsocial, domestic, pleasure, commuting or business use

Are there any restrictions on the insurance?


There is no cover while the vehicle is being:

  • driven by anyone aged under 25
  • used for a purpose other than social, domestic, pleasure, commuting or business use
  • used for hire and reward
  • used for racing, pace-making, competitions, rallies, track days, trials or speed tests
  • used by anyone in the sports, entertainment/ theatrical, racing and gambling industries

Am I eligible for the insurance?


You must be over 25, have no more than 6 points on your license and have no fault claims to be eligible for the cover. There are also some post code restrictions and trades which are not covered.

Where am I covered?


You are covered in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. If you wish to take your vehicle abroad on a trip to the European Union, you may do so with prior approval from Vanango. An additional fee for cover may be added to your subscription
